yeah keep using mental illness as a crutch .. it only further stigmatizes it and makes it difficult for people to get help because they’re seen as a “danger”

Wrong. It’s a wake up call that if we don’t face the mental health crisis &stop treating it like a dirty little secret, this kind of thing won’t stop. As the parent of a mentally ill child I want mental health education and reform. It is a matter of life and death.
-
mental health education is essential but he’s just giving excuses. I’ve seen this time again with mass shooters. His reasons don’t matter when 17 kids are dead.

what determines if a person is mentally ill by the law is if they can tell whether what they did was right or wrong and that it shouldn’t be premeditated.

1) I don't believe this. 2) I really don't care. 3) Are you trying to get us to feel sorry for a murderer?
-
No but this kid is seriously fucked up in the head. Which is why Mental Illness is really serious matter that we need to take care. We should have therapist in schools and to discuss personal matters with.

Is he? How do you know? Lots of people use the insanity defense. All I know is he killed a bunch of people, he knew it was wrong, and he now claims the voices made him do it. So if they said burn, kill, and destroy...why didn't he also burn and destroy things? IJS

There was a choice to ask for help and a choice for his actions. Living in a world of civility he must recognize the reality of his actions regardless of what he thinks or feels now. He lost that right after committing this cold blooded act.

‘Accused’ wtf
-
I do not believe he's convicted yet therefore it is accused, they're still in the process of proving his guilt and anyone in a United States court of law is innocent until proven guilty regardless of the charges.
-
he literally made a video a day before the shooting of him explaining how exactly he was gonna do it and how many people he was hoping to murder.. the video was released a couple of months ago there is no 'accused' he's the one who did it
-
Are you saying that people should not be innocent until proven guilty? Most of use know that he's guilty without a doubt but its America and people are innocent until proven guilty in a COURT OF LAW, not the public eye.
-
where did i say that???? i'm saying he's not fucking innocent so how are u here defending the 'innocent until proven guilty' when there's fucking proof he had intentions of shooting up the school like damn u can't be that dense
-
Because his trial is not complete yet... Whats so hard to understand about that? He just admitted to committing the shooting and he'll soon be convicted, but he's not convicted yet, once he's convicted the terminology will change from "accused" to "convicted".
-
i still don't care he's guilty and they're trying to make people feel sorry for him
-
I'm not saying he's innocent at all, but they're just reporting about the case and using correct terminology. Imo i think he deserves the death penalty...
