My exact thoughts!!! I would take a beating by this women to save that child-- I would, literally place my own safety at risk to save THAT child. A child i do not know. A CHILD! That would could assault me, but I would have not let that child die. Bystander effect is real.... sad

Why didn't any of these witnesses try and save the little girl?

Maybe they couldn't swim. Was it too dark to go in? The professional dive team said water was very murky.

Our laws are stupid. If she was seen throwing her child into the river why is there a trial? My opinion is she should be thrown in the water

why didn't someone try and save her? So very disturbing that so many witnesses just called 911 and didn't go after her.

‘The same age as my child.’ @TampaPD, please make sure this officer and the rest of the dive team is supported and monitored. This response is so chilling.

Finally, exactly how were the onlookers supposed to SAFELY rescue a drowning child that is being carried away by fast currents in a split second, without equipment?! Rivers are not still bodies of water, like swimming pools. Currents run atop and below the water's surface.

People started calling 911, as soon as she took the child into the river. Also, the drowning in a river would happen in a split second, not some long drama as in movies.
