If your religion prevents you from doing part of a job, get a different job. It's that simple.

I guess homophobia and Leviticus 20:13 go hand in hand. I support them staying on the closet and stop their flaming attitude demanding equal rights, they are not equal.

They are equal, and I suspect many are better than you. God made us all and he doesn’t make mistakes. BTW, read all the restrictions in Leviticus and practice them first before you judge.

If youre also not declining licenses to people who've had a divorce, had premarital sex , kids out of wedlock then its not your religion that stopped you from issuing to the same sex couple its just that you're a huge piece of shit

Cuomo, a supposed Catholic, should respect that religious liberty that we have. I am sure someone else could give the license to the couple. Stop trying to impose your beliefs on religious believers.

How about the evangelicals stop imposing their beliefs on others in a public office and do the job they get paid for? Or find a job in a church.

This clerk is not imposing his/her beliefs on the couple. They can still get a license. You are telling the clerk that he/she can't work in government if they are religious. Maybe stop trying to violate our First Amendment rights?

They are imposing their beliefs when they pick and chose to whom they will and will not issue marriage licenses. It’s very simple. If they cannot treat each citizen the same, then they should find a job where discrimination is allowed.

You are only imposing your beliefs on others when you are forcing them to comply with you. This clerk is not doing that. You are doing that. Islam, Judaism, and Christianity all teach that marriage is only between men and women. You are saying all religious can't believe that.

If you religion gets in the way of doing your job then either a) get a new job or b) be humble as your religion instructs and shut up and do the job. That goes for government clerks and pharmacists or anyone in the medical field.

Are Muslim employees of government cafeterias forced to make pork sandwiches?

Muslims do not work in places where they have to handle pork. And if once they’re hired that employer decides to sell pork they will not handle the food preparation themselves someone else will. But they will not refuse that customer from having their pork sandwich.

No. The town clerk sent them elsewhere and did not bother to find someone else in that office to help them. But sounds like someone won’t have a job once this is over.
