Should’ve said sea shore instead of beach. Opportunity missed.

That is ridiculous. Wouldn't a fine/probation been enough?

Taking shells isn't illegal. Taking shells with a protected animal inside is illegal. Especially 40.

Yea they ended up saying that in article. Do their shells just form tho or are they creatures that move from shell to shell as they grow? I'm not sure just curious.

The shell grows with the conch to a certain age and then the shell just gets thicker and fancier with horns and the flared edges. After the conch dies, then animals like hermit crabs move into the shells.

Ah ok. Now I remember what goes on. lol. I've heard it before just been a while and could not remember. But that's cool and yes they should be protected. People also poach them to eat right? So this could be that also? Or am I think of different creature here?

I don't know which conch people eat. I would hope those are not protected, farmed maybe? I just know they don't look very appetizing when I see them on the beach, but I don't like oysters either.

Yea I would assume farmed. But poachers don't care if things are endangered or not. And yea I don't like oysters either. lol. I love clams but can't do oysters. I've tried them fried, raw doesn't matter.
