MGM Resorts, owner of the Las Vegas hotel from which Stephen Paddock fatally shot 58 people and wounded hundreds more at an outdoor concert, has filed suit against hundreds of the victims claiming the entertainment giant has "no liability of any kind."https://usat.ly/2LtccWr

Great way to attract new customers. Perhaps they should have paid more attention to the guy carrying bag after bag full of assault weapons into their hotel and up their elevators day after day. Superb security.

Are hotels responsible for checking the bags of guests?

Hotels are responsible for the safety and security of its guests. In Vegas, security has eyes everywhere. A 57 year old loner male guest bringing 23 bags over several days needing to use the service elevators while he remains with the luggage doesn't get security's attention?

These hotels have thousands of guests. Unless you’re saying hotels should now search the bags of every guest, or run every guest through a search and metal detector, what are you suggesting?

I'm suggesting that security is responsible to notice unusual activity and question it. They certainly do that on the casino floor. Why not in their lobby?

Guests moving bags to their rooms is not an inherently suspicious activity. Casino floors have greater security because they deal with millions in gambling. It doesn’t take a genius to realize this.

They shouldn’t be liable, they had nothing to do with that monsters act. Even so they are still trying to help those affected. But don’t make it seem as if they committed that awful tragedy.
