Academy Sports, you are typical of whats wrong with this country, taking the side of a criminal because your employee stopped a theft and possible murders, your employee deserved a medal and a raise.

Ok, if he stole a pair of socks and the guy tackled the other guy...I could see him being fired because that is the rule. But this was a gun. A gun that he could have used to kill someone. A gun that he could have went on a crime spree with. That store is stupid for firing him.

Speak your opinion- you’re fired do the right thing - you’re fired. Cry babies and political correctness have destroyed America.

Pac-Man fights a baggage handler and is cheered and this guy stops a man from stealing a gun and he’s fired? What are we doing America?

@Academy Your employee likely saved someone's life and you fire him? Time to find somewhere else to shop. I hope he finds a better job.

So he should have let the guns go, and then somehow have been accused not stopping a more serious crime?

Hey everyone: bombard @Academy with messages telling them what a POS company they are. Hoping they will see a huge drop in customers who won’t support a company that doesn’t support their employees

I for one think the store policy is STUPID. This man did what he could to protect store staff and customers. In fact Acadamy Sports just opened in a nearby city, which seems well designed and staffed, however I now believe that all who support the second amendment
