Serious question: if this had happened in the US, would it have taken 2 weeks to start the rescues?

We let people die in Texas/Puerto Rico during the floods a few months back.

I don't think you can even compare this to a hurricane. This has directly affected 13 people plus the first responders. Harvey affected over 13 million people.

The response would have been worse here in that case. We waited a week to visit PR after the hurricane. We knew people were dying but did nothing and even prevented volunteers helping.

It started with Thailand then then became international effort because the water rising from monsoon that came too early than the seanson.

Wow, this really puts things into perspective. I can see how the diver unfortunately ran out of oxygen on his way back :(. I really hope they're able to get everyone out safely!
