Job growth has been surprisingly healthy this year despite worsening worker shortages and that trend may well have continued in June. https://usat.ly/2zbFZ4i pic.twitter.com/LTjA100Xk0

Worker shortages = more people already in work force

I’m not sure who wrote this tweet but, I hope they didn’t spend too much money on their education. Worker shortages would actually create job growth. That’s called supply and demand.

labor shortages will create wage growth, not job growth.

How do you figure that? Labor shortages means there are not enough people to work the jobs. Job growth means they’ve found the laborers to work said jobs. Wage growth has nothing to do with this.

Simple supply and demand. Shortages create inflation. As companies compete for a smaller number of available workers they will have to increase wages. Econ 101.

Be that as it may, they’re not mutually exclusive. Plus that’s not the point that was being address.

There's no such thing as a worker shortage. Where do you come up with this garbage? When the labor market tightens, as it is doing right now, employers raise wages & compensation to attract employees.

Not totally true. Farmers can’t up wages to attract US workers or they lose money.

That's true of literally every employer ever. Spending on employees increases costs & cuts into profits which leads to increased prices for consumers.

Of course it is, my point was farmers can’t afford to up wages enough to attract US workers

Food prices will go up. Whoop-de-do. End NAFTA and the estate tax and American farmers are saved.

The estate tax will not go way too many wealthy donors.

That's particularly maddening in the case of farmers. Democrats are rabid about keeping the estate tax but the average Democrat voter is very concerned about Monsanto & corporate farming. *facepalm*
