Among the cities where people are leaving in droves are places such as Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, New York, and L.A. https://usat.ly/2zcfz2F pic.twitter.com/KNv3Cvei5q

Well us here in Cleveland just swapped a guy out to LA, but Chicago!! Whoa!! Rust belt cities hurting but Chi-town was the big boy!!

Don’t be fooled. Most of these are “urbanites” being pushed to the suburbs due to gentrification

I’m in real estate & I literally just rented an apartment that’s $3,100 per month in Hyde Park on the south side of Chicago. Most people FROM the area can’t afford that.

Yeah, I thought that the trend of “white flight” would start reversing in rust belt areas, as workers returned closer to urban job centers... But Chitown had such strong residential neighborhoods in city limits over other Midwestern cities... Your rent is gross!! You got A/C?☺️

Not sure if you’ll agree, but to me the poverty-class offers the greatest racial harmony, when you are poor your color is secondary to everyone just trying to make it & survive... When money/power enter, the competition/divisions begin... In my white guy opinion...

Just try to commute to work or home on the 405 or 5 freeway anytime not 3am in the morning in LA...you'd move back to the ocean if you could.

This tweet is misleading as hell since the Census bureau's statistics and your own article show a net increase in population for the first two cities, but who needs facts to get in the way of clicks.

Now, imagine - for a moment - every state being an autonomous country. Wouldn't that make all these ppl immigrants, looking for a better life? #USA

Well it ain't and most of these states if they were their own sovereign would be 3rd world countries

What I don't know if this shows is age. Folks I know leaving Chicago are going to the burbs to raise their families or out of state because of taxes. I think it says less about Chicago and more about the age of the people moving around.

I heard Chicago is a gang war zone and those numbers support it. People are fleeing the place in fear.

I live in Chicago. We have problems, but your comment makes it sound like we are living in a Kurt Russell "Escape from LA" type of movie! 😀 Ooo, I found a Forbes article about millennials in core cities that is interesting. Hope you'll give it a read.https://www.forbes.com/sites/petesaunders1/2017/01/12/where-educated-millennials-are-moving/#71c81103d3cc …

Wow are you really a hot lady? If so PROVE to me Chicago is safe by inviting me to sleep over and showing me the whole entire city.
