Why do you need WiFi at a family gathering? It’s a FAMILY gathering, you’re there to bond, connect, and make memories. Disconnect for a few hours. You can stalk your ex on Facebook later. 🙄

It's how kids communicate and socialize now. They're still interacting, just differently than how it used to be done. Taking it away is like trying to force a foreign culture on them that may not exist for them or in the future. Embrace, do not fight, the change. Give 'em Wi-Fi.

Develop games and activities that requires use of a cell phone. Include prizes. Could be a team based activity. An example would be a trivia game.

so what if the kids dont get the wifi password. Who's the adults. They need to be social and interact with the family.

This is not hard. Before the event, everyone’s phone goes into a basket, kids AND adults, and you start by expressing gratitude for being together and truly present with family/friends.
