The comment by David Bossie, who now leads Citizens United, instantly drew backlash and caused Fox News host Ed Henry to issue an apology on air.https://usat.ly/2tAHgfl

Now was the gentleman he said this to offended? Or is everyone getting offended FOR him? If so, then that's more offensive and condescending than the expression that was used.

Uhhhh this is pretty obviously offensive. Joel Payne doesn't even need to seem offended for everyone to know that this is attacking an entire group of people.

This is just a general phrase that isn't meant to mean anything. It is like saying "pea pickin' little heart" or similar things. I used it with my kids when they said something outrageous. Be it known, however, that Bossie is NOT on my favorite prople list!

I've been told that many times by my parents, and I couldn't be any whiter. People need to stop looking for offense. It's an expression/saying. But, nowadays everything has a racist origin, no matter what it is, or it offends this group or that. People need thicker skins.

U can go after pretty much any one and call them monkey, it's not the same when you call a blck person monkey esp from a white person. There is a long history of calling black pple monkey just like there is of black pple picking cotton. Then again, I don't expect you to understnd

And they sink lower and lower there was a time when it was better to actually debate both sides of an issue and let people make it their own minds, that time is gone ... now it’s better to hurl insults, call names, and lie that’s the new standard, shock people and they love u

An apology from FOX is meaningless. Joel Payne knew he would be up against a racist guy who takes cheap shots. When Bossie made the cotton-picking mind comment, Payne should have said: "Careful David, your cracker might crumble." Fight fire with fire! No respect for disrespect!

Ah, good ole 21st century, passive aggressive racism. It's the equivalent of Joel saying to David, "Looks like you're cracking like a CRACKER, under all this pressure...Oh I wasn't calling you a cracker, don't salties crack if you apply a little pressure to them?"

That is so crazy! I have heard that all my life! When it gets to the point a white person cannot open their mouths without checking the latest news to see if it is offensive, it may be time for everyone to go to their respective corners. Is that what you want ?
