The Supreme Court has sidestepped a potentially historic ruling that would have stopped states from drawing election maps intended to help one political party dominate the other, but the issue could return as soon as next term. https://usat.ly/2t8rJUD  #SCOTUS

This #SCOTUS decision is a call to action. Stakes are even higher for voter reform in MI, CO, MO, and UT on Nov ballot supported by @RepresentDotUs. There are now more political reform efforts on the 2018 ballot than there have been since Watergate!

Democrats love gerrymandering when they won elections. Gerrymandering became "evil" when state voters locked democrats out.

Courts matter. 5 conservative appointees versus 4 liberal appointees are what we're witnessing. Sad when you are screwed by Repub Congress and the highest court.

This is such bullshit. The gerrymandering here in North Carolina is ridiculous. The people aren't being properly represented and the politicians in power continually embarrass the state. Why won't the Judiciary do their damn job?

Thank you for your service. With your previous military service you should understand the need for rules. Today’s SCOTUS ruling was right. It had nothing to do with race or religion, rather it put a stop on countries that promote terrorism and chaos through out the world.

yes I know in one of these cases republicans were trying to change things in MD. but by and large democrats use the courts to overturn we the peoples votes. I am a proponent of to the victor go the spoils, in this case gop controls states they can decide on maps, dems same.

Gerrymandering means politicians get to pick their voters instead of letting the voters pick them. And picking their voters means they don’t have to fight for their jobs in competitive elections. @Schwarzenegger

Proving our courts are out of control. The constitution clearly states only ONE branch has complete control of drawing boundaries. Any other ruling should be ignored by states.

But isn't it the case that the origins of today's gerrymandering are in guaranteeing minority voters are fairly represented in government?
