Why doesn't Natalie insist her government just drop their tariffs so both sides enjoy some real free trade?

Because then Americans would make it unfair trade and is the reason why there was an agreement in the first place. Are they not supposed to protect their citizens from our predatory companies?

But so many of us live here don’t like what happened. I understand that Canadians will do as they choose, but there are many Americans who hate what Trump has done and is doing to our country and others.

US office of Trade Representative 2016 overall surplus with Canada. Now, Canada is our largest partner. It’s Mexico & of course China where we have huge imbalances in trade. Trump should be railing on China not Canada. Why isn’t he?

We get food from all over the world in our grocery stores. American products aren’t necessarily the best but NAFTA makes them more times than not the cheapest. So..

Canadians know most Americans don’t support this. We still see you as friends & allies but we’re annoyed by the way it’s playing itself out by those on the Right. I don’t support a boycott. We can never win in the end and ultimately we’ll end up hurting ourselves on both sides

In all honesty money is the only thing that talks in the US now. Want to uncover any injustice in America, just follow the money. There are many who don’t understand the ramifications of Tariffs on Ally nations. The good will be punished with the bad.

Well that’s true. The article Yellow Mediawatch sent below sheds some light on it as does the one I sent him albeit more pointed to the Dairy tariffs. It’s a complex nuanced agreement that Trump has cherry picked to score points with his base and make him look aggressive
