The ‘No Gays Allowed’ story many are sharing today was originally published in 2015. USA TODAY has not shared or updated it since then. Claims suggesting that it’s a reaction to the recent Supreme Court ruling are false.

Now that’s ridiculous!! We count on the media to bring us current and true reporting. If we can’t trust you, you won’t have readers and then what??

They wrote a story in 2015 and haven't touched it since. Other parties are responsible for drudging it up today under apparently misleading pretenses. How again is that their fault?

After fact checking the story, he indeed put the sign up in 2015, but he put it back up in 2018 because of the ruling. So please fact check before you tweet.

Do you have a link to a story that proves he put the sign back up? Everyone's saying this but no one seems to have any proof of it. Honestly asking.

Did you read it? It says "Nearly three years later after he made national headlines, a handwritten sign reading 'NO GAYS ALLOWED' is hanging on the shop's door once again." A Syracuse newspaper and a local new station did updates and an interview. Is @USATODAY saying both these sources are liars?https://www.syracuse.com/us-news/index.ssf/2018/06/no_gays_allowed_tennessee_hardware_store_sign.html …

The tweet is saying that reports that @USATODAY shared the 2015 story trying to pass it off as new information, are incorrect. Our USA TODAY NETWORK partners at @knoxnews are looking into whether there is anything new to report. We will follow up if there is.
