I walk, run and jog as more of a stress reliever. Sure your body will adapt to any exercise sooner or later this is why you mix it up, running, cardio, yoga, weight lifting etc. I think many who just run do it for more thaan weight lose. its an escape, its fun etc.

Yeah? Hmmm? Funny how ALL branches of the military have proved your doctors wrong. Additionally, besides weight loss, endurance is increased. The increase makes the body apt to be more active & burn even more calories.

Let's not forget the increase in endorphins, which will create feelings of positive well which fuels the "drive" to be physically active. I do concur that threadmills are not used to instill this needed level of running.
