The opinions expressed by Professor Gigi Foster about the economic impacts of the COVID-19 lockdown, do not represent the views of UNSW Sydney or UNSW Business School. (1/3)

While we appreciate your concerns, freedom of speech is critically important in our democracy and it is of the highest importance to UNSW. (2/3)

I respect that too. I also deplore her behaviour and her comments are reprehensible, as is my freedom to express within the law. Good luck to you. People are entitled to be very unhappy and they are.

There is a pandemic. Her rights in the current health emergency to encoyrage death inducing activities is highly questionable

Freedom of speech is fine but when people advocate for the state to allow people to die needlessly, then we need to challenge that 'freedom'. Its a sad day when a university employs people with no respect for human life. Her views are barbaric & not based on ANY evidence.

What about economic professors who publicly prove they can’t understand foundational principles of economics? Does UNSW care about competence?

This professor is no better than those protesting about wearing masks I am appalled by her lack of compassion and UNSW inability to recognise the danger of such views in a pandemic. Many families have lost loved ones. 😢

Surely a basic tenet of economics is having a live population? Dead people aren't known for their productivity and/or consumption.
