(3/4) The UNSW Discussion Group is a private, student-run Facebook group not operated by the University. If harassment or defamatory content is shared in the Group, members should report the post to Group Admins and to Facebook for removal & similarly for public tweets.
(4/4) We are offering our support to the affected individual as there has been a significant amount of online bullying occurring. We ask all our students to please ensure debate around the Council elections remains respectful at all times.
What a really lousy disappointing response from UNSW.
What a poor response. If there is to be any kind of voice for students and you present yourself to the public through such platforms, you have to acknowledge that collective voice and act on the concrete proof you have been provided, not shield it behind bureaucracy (1/2)
(2/2) the issue is not online bullying. The issue is racism, profound prejudice and discrimination, especially at a time when the whole world is uniting for change. Get your priorities right and make unsw a more inclusive community!
