Painful rents, unpaid internships, lack of transport concessions... my heart goes out to any student (domestic & International) in this situation. (Btw @UNSW, any plans for more actual affordable on-campus housing that doesn’t cost $400/week?) https://www.theage.com.au/national/one-in-seven-uni-students-often-forced-to-go-without-food-new-study-20180812-p4zx27.html … @StudyNSW
We currently offers a range of campus living options that are under $400 p/w, be it in colleges or apartment living formats. We're committed to providing quality, affordable on-campus housing to students, as we look to increase student accommodation offerings in the future.

Happy to hear that! Only affordable options now are UNSW Village & International House which are oversubscribed, and I hear UNSW Hall’s closing. Urgent need for units priced <$300/wk that don’t bankrupt students, many who already have to work & can’t access transport concessions

(The $400 reference was in relation to some options that are billed “affordable”, and while I can understand why, $1200 a month for a room is seriously out of reach to many students, incl. doctoral candidates. A tower of single dorm-style units may help, like at US universities)
