CO2 has been rising at ~2ppm/year that's not vary much, however we must plan for extreme weather events. A suggestion that might help is stop building in flood zones and within a few feet of the ocean. Just use common sense, there is no need to spend trillions fighting CO2.

Well, it adds up. Yes, we should not build in risk-areas, but what do we the many cities on the coasts. The tens of millions of people that will be displaced, think Bangladesh, and the nations that might disappear such as Kiribati perhaps. Plus CO2 makes extreme events worse...
