Thanks @TeamYouTube for making it even more difficult for the little guy. So if you want to make a career out of YT, you best not quit your day job just yet

Ha ha no I hear you man. Especially for someone like me, who’s doing this as a hobby, it doesn’t really affect me. However it does suck when the “goal posts” keep moving.
Yeah, I know. It sucks to have a goal and have it go further beyond reach. But honestly, goal posts have stayed still. I wasn't making enough to live off of YT a year ago with 7K subs & 1000's hours of watch time per month. Not sure how anyone can do it below YTs requirements.
It won’t kill channels, no. It just means the payouts will take longer to get. Hence the “keep your day job” comment
If you really mean to make serious career out of YT, then this shouldn’t be an issue as you will only really make a living when you hit the 15k+ subs.
I can sympathize with everyone for not getting paid for their content, but I'm not sure the practical outrage is justified. This isn't killing small channels, it's only theoretically changing the rules to match with practical experiences.
Finally someone who is calling it out :P 100% well said.
