It is impossible to watch today and not recognize white privilege and white supremacy in action. There were many peaceful protests in support of racial justice over the summer. Too often they were met with aggressive suppression and violence—and mass arrests.

In DC, Homeland Security & other federal law enforcement were out in full force in preparation for Black Lives Matter protests, but entirely absent when mostly white armed insurrectionists invaded the Capitol...

Some have questioned why UCS works on democratic reform. One need only look at the Capitol to see why we need to reclaim our democracy as our own.http://act.ucsusa.org/3hLFBMI

It is not a privilege for me to be white. It is shame to be white. Unfair as an individual perhaps, but many unfair things have been ENDURED by individuals who have caused no injury to others. I am just sad and brokenhearted for the future of Earth and our children. #BLM #covidpic.twitter.com/i2fQfHE8a1

These people don't even get what was so wrong about what they did by forcing their way into the Capital.

The point is valid. I know this isn't an original Tweet, but the photo is of the Lincoln Memorial during the June BLM protests, not the US Capitol.

Watching terrorists on the street right now. Why are they not being arrested?

If you think it’s impossible to deny at this point, you don’t know white people. Plenty will see this as different. It’s not. But they will, trust me.
