64% of college dropouts directly associate their departure with mental health concerns. UC must support & retain the behavioral health workers that students rely on. Join our April 26 town hall to learn what we're doing to address this crisis: upte.org/mentalhealth

We argued that the financial burden should not be on international workers—the government must adequately fund & streamline the agencies that process visas. The final rule was published in March & did not adopt the outrageous proposed fees, instead imposing only minor increases.

Solidarity is power & the right to respect picket lines is a 1st amendment right no employer should be able to take away. UAW members are proudly sponsoring AB 504 (Reyes) to enshrine that right into CA public sector law. Yesterday it passed committee - now on to appropriations!

Unlike , we believe housing 🏡  is a human right & not a get-rich-quick-scheme 💸 for billionaires and corporations.  At UCI Douglas Hospital, we’re putting UC on notice: Rent increases & tenant evictions are not a “capitalistic win” to gloat about!

TAKE ACTION!

Wed. April 12th.

We need $25/5% now!

UCSD Chancellor Khosla will receive a $500,000 raise this year.

Chancellors, who already make an average of $320 per hour AND get free on-campus housing, will now get financing assitance to buy themselves homes.

We deserve a raise too.

We are barely getting by.

We deserve more. We are worth more.

We will fight for it until we win!

WE DEMAN $25/5% NOW!

UCSD told workers they can only afford 85% of the typical number of TA jobs next year. Meanwhile, the UC Regents voted to give Chancellor Pradeep Khosla a $500,000 raise. has the money for our contract. They just lack the will to implement it
Quote Tweet
Pradeep Khosla, the Chancellor of @UCSanDiego, just got a $500k raise. His salary is now over $1.1 million dollars. He also lives in university-provided housing, free of charge. Meanwhile, the workers who run this university are still fighting for a living wage. Disgusting.

UC Berkeley was trying to retaliate against our union by using our newly won longer initial appointments to deny hiring Jess. We won’t let UC punish Postdocs for fighting for better working conditions, and we will enforce our rights!

Bay Area members! Join tomorrow, Wed 3/15 from 2-6PM at Lake Merritt Amphitheater to support Oakland teachers’ bargaining for the common good demands. Solidarity!!
Join educators at the Lake Merritt Amphitheater on Wed, March 15 from 2pm - 6pm to demand that OUSD bargain in good faith!

Four years ago, our historic 2019 strike won major victories that helped us see our power. Now, we are bargaining a new contract to build on those wins. Unfortunately, the District's bargaining team is not taking our demands seriously. It's time they hear our voices.

Safe: OUSD needs to reinvest in preventative restorative justice policies and practices. OUSD must protect our students from heat waves and other climate crises.

Stable: Our students need experienced teachers with deep roots in the community. To stop losing our teachers to school districts with much higher salaries, OUSD must pay our teachers fairly.

Racially Just: We must stop racist school closures. OUSD must also fund and carry out the Reparations 4 Black Students resolution.
