UW Postdocs & Researchers rallied for a fair contract today and SEIU 925 members joined in solidarity. Reed Garber-Pearson shared their experience with UW's stalling tactics and reminded folks that by uniting and working together we can win strong contracts.

Beth has been a RSE since 1990, and has seen firsthand how UW's refusal to pay living wages to its research workers has led to the loss of valuable workers because they can't survive on poverty wages at UW. “Wages aren't that much higher than when I started over 30 years ago.”
The UW Libraries Union has our backs! Reed shared their experience with UW's stalling tactics at the bargaining table, and how worker power will win us the contracts we deserve
"We can win – and we will win – if we build power predicated on majority participation, and cultivate deep solidarity founded on relationships of trust and mutual investment in each others’ well being."
- Avi Matarasso (
📢 “We’re not asking for the sun and the moon, we’re just asking UW to obey the law, and enable the sort of high-level research that helps them as much as it helps us”
- Brant Bowers, Postdoc in Electrical & Computer Engineering
