Coming mostly from WPF, I don't understand why MVVM frameworks like Angular or Vue are so popular. I have always felt that MVVM was just a deficient pattern that existed solely because there was nothing better. Now that MVU is no longer an ivory tower tech, why does MVVM exist?

Top 8 Shakespeare sonnets, written in Elizabethan English. Sonnet 98. Sonnet 29. Sonnet 24. Sonnet 134. Sonnet 18. Sonnet 116. Sonnet 130. Sonnet 104. Shakespeare didn’t use Go to write any of these. No one in the sonnet community considers Go for writing sonnets.

Debates about static vs dynamic languages always confused me. There are always types. The approaches vary only by when the types are verified (compile time for static, runtime for dynamic) and where they are defined (in code for static, in your head for dynamic).

I’m pleased to present the flame-bait sequel to my previous blog post: “No, dynamic type systems are not inherently more open.” (Please send me your hatemail at your earliest convenience.)

Looks like GitHub Actions started picking up build warnings from CLI. You can now see the warnings right under the lines of code that produce them.

I deleted a lot of code today. It’s such a great feeling! So liberating! And hopefully Mark will lock his laptop next time.

The idea that domain people should be writing BDD specs is flawed because they are equally unable to separate implementation details from user-facing side effects. I cringe at "THEN the info is stored in DB" every time. Come on, how is this observed from system boundaries?
