I will be proud to join the efforts of Chair Huffman and Comptroller Hegar to exempt feminine hygiene products from sales tax next session. Exempting these essential products is long overdue and it is time we join the many other states that have already made this move.

Since 2015, I have been working with Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and the Texas Water Development Board to secure funding for this project.

The Raymondville Drain Project is critical to the future of our communities in the Rio Grande Valley. Securing funding without burdening our taxpayers has been one of my top priorities as a member of the Legislature.

TX now has 19 less of these precious & valuable resources. These children will never walk into the Capitol to ask us to do more to protect them. Those of us who can, will & should demand that more be done to save the lives of other children, their teachers, and our communities.

Congratulations to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers - The 2022 NBA G League Champions!
They just won this title with their 2 out of 3 win against the Delaware Blue Coats. The Vipers have now won four league titles: 2010, 2013, 2019, and 2022.

For a facility to subject already-victimized children to further abuse and trafficking is absolutely repulsive, especially after the Legislature has dedicated nearly $120 million over the past two session for prevention, investigation, and prosecution of these very activities.

This is infuriating and unacceptable. Our children are our most precious gift and should never undergo this type of abuse. I'm pleased the Texas Rangers will be investigating and pursuing charges against any suspect involved in this matter. However, this should not stop there.

Congrats to my daughter Kris who was sworn in on Friday as Associate Judge of Title IV-D Master Court I in Hidalgo County. I am very proud of my daughter and wish her much success as she begins this new chapter of her life as Judge Hinojosa.
