1/2 Truth: SF “leaders” & nonprofits WANT this city to be disgusting & dangerous. they don’t desire safety, beauty, cleanliness, & economic vibrancy. they want filth, tents, crime, insanity, & addiction. knowing this, we move forward & change everything.

Why do you think these beds are open when so many people would gratefully accept a safe place to sleep?

get high, no rules and free stuff in Dean's tents vs. get sober and have rules in rehab. i think you know why

it's true,
@christinevans. I was just there. dozens of empty beds in a lovely, clean environment. waiting for people to come and get sober, live healthier, more fulfilling lives. -

@MyTwolffamily , So to be clear, if I have a existing addiction and am willing to give it up, I might have free food, shelter, medical care. However if I am merely elderly with no addictions on our streets, there are no opportunities for shelter for me? Why punishment over care?
-
That is a harsh reality and I agree with you completely.

It doesn’t matter most on the street are not only service resistant they are service hostile. They choose to live a drug addicted feral life. Which is their choice but just keep stuff clean and don’t break the law.

I was contacted last hear by a couple of people working on apps for just this reason. But I don't know if they happened. COVID19 stopped a lot of these resources from coming to fruition. But, DPH has this website. https://findtreatmentsf.org/dashboard/index.html …
