As we continue to protect the integrity of #Election2020
conversation on Twitter, we're announcing new, significant updates today that will bring more context and encourage thoughtful consideration before Tweeting.

We’ll temporarily ask people to add their own commentary before amplifying content by prompting Quote Tweets instead of Retweets. We hope this encourages everyone to consider why they are amplifying a Tweet, and brings more thoughts, reactions & perspectives to the conversation.pic.twitter.com/SGabVDtZlZ

We’re taking more steps to encourage thoughtful amplification by preventing Tweets that have been “followed by” and “liked by” accounts you don’t follow from showing up in your timeline.

We will only surface Trends in the “For You” tab in the U.S. that include additional context. This will more quickly let people know why something is trending and also help reduce the potential for misleading information to spread.pic.twitter.com/6eoH3tqVvC
