Tweets which include premature claims of a victory in an election will be labeled and direct people to our official US Election page in Explore. Tweets that encourage others to interfere with the election process or the results will be removed.https://help.twitter.com/rules-and-policies/election-integrity-policy …

Starting next week, when people attempt to Retweet a Tweet with a misleading information label, they will see a prompt directing them to credible information about the topic before they can amplify it.pic.twitter.com/RCgYTY2OuI

The app version of a misleading information prompt that highlights that the Tweet is disputed. The label’s headline reads “This is disputed” and below that a description that reads “Help keep Twitter a place for reliable info. Find out more before sharing,” a “Find out more” button, and the option to Quote Tweet.

To continue to address the risk of misinformation, we'll add warnings and further restrictions on Tweets with misleading information labels from accounts owned by US political figures, US-based accounts with 100,000+ followers, or Tweets that obtain significant engagement.pic.twitter.com/I0mQVRb5c1

An example Tweet with a misleading information label displayed above the Tweet’s text. Below the Tweet is a label that links to more information on the Tweet’s topic.

We’ll temporarily ask people to add their own commentary before amplifying content by prompting Quote Tweets instead of Retweets. We hope this encourages everyone to consider why they are amplifying a Tweet, and brings more thoughts, reactions & perspectives to the conversation.pic.twitter.com/SGabVDtZlZ

We’re taking more steps to encourage thoughtful amplification by preventing Tweets that have been “followed by” and “liked by” accounts you don’t follow from showing up in your timeline.

We will only surface Trends in the “For You” tab in the U.S. that include additional context. This will more quickly let people know why something is trending and also help reduce the potential for misleading information to spread.pic.twitter.com/6eoH3tqVvC
