How much damage was done?
-
Right now 18,000 acres in all and still burning businesses Homes, schools, the hospital, it’s basically burning everything to the ground. I figure the whole town may burnt to the ground.pic.twitter.com/L2Bvmobdif

Can we agree this is a weird name for a dangerous inferno?
#CampFire -
It does seem weird but the fire originated at Camp Creek Road and that’s how they name them.

In situations like this all branches of the
@military,@DHSgov@police@firefighters in all states as well as private planes, and choppers should be putting it out. Home and business owners should be out with hoses wetting down everything around them. Cost less than the loss -
I believe we should train national guard and equip military planes with firefighting equipment, training, and communication equipment. Climate change along with pine death have made the west a tinderbox.
-
I agree Chris, train all we can and civilians can do their part also by getting things soggy. Pine death seems to happening everywhere

Why are they calling it Campfire? Was it started by a campfire?
-
I was wondering why it was called a campfire too. I couldn’t find any information on what started the fire. Anybody know what happened??
-
I tried again to find it, they usually name the fires like they name hurricanes so that people will know which one is being discussed but so far it was the names of places so I thought maybe there was a place with Campfire in the name. No luck so far.
-
named for the street it started by, camp creek road
-
OK, thank you...I figured that would be the case.
