There was a Tourette's guy at my HS. By the end we all became a little suspicious that he'd embraced it and was sometimes pretending to tic to get a laugh. I felt sorry for him, he was a nice guy and was doing it to fit in.

Its something I face on a daily basis and I can tell you when the people around me think that way I try to suppress them, which makes my tics seem more delayed or forced. This in turn makes people assume they are fake tics, and it reinforces their belief. It's horrible.
