No I'm not Bipolar. OCD and ADHD are both often comorbid with tourettes. But Bipolar isn't usually connected with tourettes syndrome.

Do you sometimes say something really mean and true but then blame it on tourettes?

No. I'm not a coward. If I have a problem with someone's behavior I will want them to know I mean it. I'm forced to be inappropriate all the time, even to people I love or don't even know. It's often terrifying or sad. People fantasize about being cruel and without consequences.

What advice would you give to a parent that has never dealt with tourettes but discovers their child has it? And more importantly, what advice would you give to that child?

Speaking from personal experience, a child growing up with tourettes. Just love them as best as you can. I tried a bunch of different meds for tourettes and none of them really worked for me but I mean everyone's different But most important just know they have someone they trust
