This is a really common response, especially as children. Becoming petrified, unable to move and respond is normal. And sadly many victims blame themselves, thinking "why didn't I fight back?" the truth is it's an instinct, it overrides your prefrontal cortex.
Victims don't choose to respond in that way. But the perpetrator DID choose to abuse them. It's so important not to blame the victim, especially a child. You were not to blame, I'm so sorry this happened to you and I admire you for speaking out. <3
