While trying to delete e-mails in trash folder on iPhone, a notification popped up reading that this option was not available since I had activated two-factor authentication. I failed to do a printscreen to send you a pic, but would like to know what it means or if it's a glitch.

Thanks for your reply. It would be useful if you could share any insight, like if you recognize a similar notification, or if I have something to worry about. I have had several unexplained bugs with the tutanota app, and would like to know if it has any security issues. Thanks!

Yes, this is normal. Usually you would get this notice when logging in as the app does not support 2FA, yet. You are only able to use the app because you have been logged in before adding 2FA. We're in the process of updating the app so it will soon support 2FA as well.

Your answer is a bit confusing: it is normal to bump into the 2FA notification, but the App does not support 2FA, yet I would have previously logged in with 2FA.(?) I understand that you mean 2FA notification isn't a bug or a security issue, but not the convoluted state of 2FA.

Sorry for the confusion. 1. 2FA is not implemented with the app. 2. You have previously logged in before you added 2FA. 3. This session is not automatically killed when you add 2FA so you can keep using the app despite the fact that 2FA is not implemented, yet.

I like Tutamail, I pay for it and support it but: What if my password is compromised, how to mitigate against pw theft? 2FA?

Right now, there is nothing we can do. We can only lock the account if you password gets stolen... That's why we'll add 2FA
