#Ndaa Section 1225 gives after-the-fact license to continuing U.S. military actions in Yemen supporting Saudi Arabia which have resulted in mass starvation, tens of thousands of dead civilians, and blockades causing one of the worst humanitarian disasters in history.

Authorizing Section 1225 gives the Trump Administration total authority to keep deploying our troops to the Middle East as long as they want to, without any clear objective and without congressional authorization. This puts us on a dangerous path to endless war.

Im urging my colleagues to vote YES on the Gabbard amendment that will be up for a vote today in the House which will simply strip Section 1225 from the #NDAA - upholding our constitutional responsibility and preventing this blank check for endless war from becoming law.

Rather than dumping trillions more dollars into more interventionist regime change wars, we should be using our precious resources to invest in our communities here at home - providing clean water, rebuilding infrastructure, improving education, housing, healthcare & more

Ever wondered why Saudi Arabia enforced blockades around Yemen? It’s cause Iran keeps smuggling arms to the rebels, thus, continuing to fuel this war. If you need to point fingers, point at Iran.

The humanitarian disaster is caused by the Selfish Houthis. All the monetary reserves of Yemen are used for their war efforts!

Continuing to support Saudi Arabia would accelerate the peace process. Wouldn’t we like to see Yemen free of conflict? The root of the problem must first be dealt with. Those Iranian-backed rebels are what started it all.
