Prohibit and penalize the false marketing and distribution of opioids. Companies like Purdue Pharma, the makers of OxyContin, knew about the dangerous and addictive nature of their drugs but did nothing to inform doctors, pharmacists, or the public.

Hold top company executives criminally liable for the crisis. This isn’t about escalating the so-called “War on Drugs.” It’s about restoring justice to a criminal justice system that has been out of whack punishing the wrong people for generations.

Have drug companies reimburse the cost of the crisis—$78 billion a year, according to the CDC. Multi-billion dollar profits from a prescription drug trade that results in death and human suffering should be appropriated to solve the crisis they helped create.

We can create the momentum needed to bring this tragic, expensive, and deadly opioid crisis to a halt, but we need everyone's support. Call, text, tweet—do whatever it takes to get the word out. Big Pharma is going to come at us with everything they’ve got—we need to fight back.

Mistaken or intentionally misleading? Senator Sanders holds a most important place in correcting the direction the US has held for far too long. We need a shift in priorities that Bernie and Tulsi are spearheading.

Portugal solved their opioid crisis by decriminalizing all drugs. We should follow in their footsteps. Legalize cannabis and decriminalize everything else. Also the Sackler family ought to be prosecuted along with Purdue Pharma's executives and marketing team.

@TulsiGabbard, the opioid crisis needs to b addressed, but PLZ don't forget about the ppl who take these meds responsibly & RELY on them for quality of life! That's been missing in this discussion. Plz make sure solutions don't restrict access to meds for the ppl who NEED them! Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I have 2 very close friends who suffer deom DIABETIC NEUROPATHY, LEGITIMATELY REQUIRING OPIOID PAINKILLERS. Excessive overreaction to abuse of opioids causes horrendous suffering and shortened lives for DIABETIC NEUROPATHY PATIENTS. Jackson Rip Holmes

We need someone to do this. Those in pain cannot be solely accountable for their dependency.

When you put forth a plan that decriminalizes the use of all drugs and aims to compel treatment instead of incarceration.. I will be ready to listen to what you have to say. Alcoholism is the worst of all and it is handled by government properly.

What ur doing is great but u need to realize that not everyone on meds is abusing it and how difficult u guys r making it for those of us who have validated medical reasons for being on meds.
-
That's very true. You have to jump through hoops to get Medication. One mistake of upsetting a nurse or staff member can get you kicked out.
