Dude, that would be awesome, they could use that land to grow avocados, mango, litchi's and other ag products instead. Sugar cane is not a good long-term value prospect due to high competition and oversupply, its just established so its easy. I like your imagination!

Except the alternative energy fuels electric, corn, and hydrogen aren’t as efficient or as easily transported as oil. Oil/Gas when you need combustion for your car, truck or bus still is the best way to power your car. Takies abou 2 minutes to fill up your tank.

Sure, lets start by ending all subsidies to the fossil fuel industry, $20 billion per annum in USA. Take a look at the latest #'s and you'll see green energy is starting to outperform fossil fuels in cost. Obviously cannot ignore regulations that keep environment and health safe
