I can see a safety net gov't subsidy maybe to help people who need family and medical leave. Many companies generously provide that. But if you're suggesting that private companies pay for long term employee absences, then it's clear that communism is alive and well.

Please pass this. My 92 year old mother is in a rehab facility after falling and if leave was paid I could stay with her while she stayed in beloved home. It would be better for all involved, reduce insurance costs and increase everyone's peace of mind.
