The Trafficking Survivors Relief Act is a common sense criminal justice reform. The current system puts survivors at risk of suffering further abuse, trauma, and recidivism by charging them for non-violent crimes they were forced to commit. We must empower recoveries instead.

Being rape victim is never a crime. Absurd that we havent corrected this perception until now. Even characterizing as sex workers is wrong in its implication that consent was any part of transaction. “Sexual slavery” should be used clearly vs “trafficked sex workers.” Thank you!
