During a vacation in Hawaii, my mom & I visited one of the beaches near the North Shore. As we were wading in the water, my mom lost her balance due the waves. At least 6 Hawaiian gentlemen raced in to help her up & back to the beach. Aloha spirit that neither of us forgot!
In Hawaiʻi, people grow up with the aloha spirit. We understand what it means to show respect to others no matter their religion, country of origin, personal wealth, education, or anything else. These are American values, and they must be protected.
