Studies show up to a 20% drop in addiction rates and opioid abuse deaths in states with legal medical marijuana. Today I sent a letter to @HHSGov asking to increase research into medical marijuana as a pain management substitute to combat the opioid crisis.

It needs to be rescheduled (well, legalized, but one thing at a time) before any meaningful research can be done. Way too many hoops to jump through and barriers to hit when trying to do a study.

Opiates are pushed on Vets when they should not be blocked fr. cannabis. A cancer patient told me it helped with appetite & rest, which we need to heal, but instead she's given opiates & treated like a criminal in Virginia with the smallest amt.

Virginia sent a decriminalization bill for research a year ago while trump cops in rural smaller towns profile & stalk young people & minorities 3 to 1 for cannabis. Nixon's BS and now trump's in full force ruining lives. Good kids on the run or in jail.
