When a politician is against to opening the availability time to vote, then we must look more closely at that politician.
Passing the Weekend Voting Act is common sense. Tuesday elections are arbitrary and keep too many from exercising their right to vote.

We do all vote by mail here in Washington. It’s wonderful!

Colorado has it too and turnout is higher. I use to work 3rd shift and this was helpful for people like me.

How about 100% Vote By Mail? USPS (we own it) delivers ballot. Ballot drop boxes at post offices & govt buildings. Return post card sent by election office, to acknowledge receipt of ballot. Already 100% Vote By Mail in Washington state.

Lots of ppl work weekends. National Holiday for elections = commitment to democracy.

They can vote early or by mail. Sunday is the best day across the board to maximize voting.

Tuesday elections are a byproduct of people being in town on Tuesdays for market day. It will take a massif cultural shift to change.

People can vote every day in New Zealand for at least a week before the final voting day. Voting is at schools, community halls etc

The easy answer is for the rest of the US to go to a voting system like WA state has, which is drop off/mail in ballots. Automatic registration too. Then you don't need to worry about which days.
