Thank you Rep. Gabbard. Unfortunately, the sovereignty OF the people of Puerto Rico does not come FROM the people of Puerto Rico. It lies in Congress. Would you promote self determination and, if so decided, bring into the fold of the Union the american citizens on the island?

Would you work to repeal the Jones Act? It would be the single biggest thing we could do to help the economies in those places.

Jones, renewing tax exemptions 936 to promote manufacturing jobs, removing importation taxes from goods from the US....there's a lot of ground we can work.

Puerto Rico is a tough problem to solve. So many of their best people get tired of the corruption so they leave and come here. This is great for us, but not great for Puerto Rico.
