I applaud FCC proposals to block the one billion unwanted robocalls Americans receive annually. In response to these outrageous intrusions of our privacy, the FCC is proposing to make it legal for phone companies to block unwanted calls and develop new call blocking tools. Yes!

Thank you for this stance. Also, look at penalties for caller id spoofing and perhaps govt action on preventing it. Phone scams are a $4B a year industry that prey mostly on the elderly.

Can the FCC ban election campaign commercials on TV and radio? They are way more annoying than robocall in my humble opinion. I approve this message.

Not against blocking robocalls, especially if it keeps them from leaving a voicemail But this reeks of negative side effects that could lead to intentional censorship

I was thinking the same thing... how does the phone company determine what i deem a “unwanted phone call” 🤔

As long at the phone companies don't use this as a 'reason' to add new fees to the consumers.

If you’re not busy... answer and when an actual person gets on the phone... waste as much of their time as possible. They’ll block you 😉 Especially the scammers, I love messing with them when I’m at work. Unfortunately they’ve stopped calling

It's a private business. Businesses don't have rights, they have regulations. They are allowed to function within those regulations. If they are unethical or intrusive to those who didn't choose to take part in them, then they should face a penalty for that.
