Snowden fled rather than attempt to use whistle blower protection as a defense in court.

The espionage act doesn't allow defendants to give any testimony about their motivation, why what they leaked shouldn't be classified to begin with, or anything else. Until the espionage act is reformed, whistleblowers that are charged under it are not allowed fair trials

Oh my. The Congress (yeah, the one you supposedly sit in) was fully aware of NSA activities. It's called oversight. The Congress is meant to represent and protect the people. Maybe take that role seriously. The NSA protects Americans. Snowden lives in Moscow and betrays Americans

Sorry, I can't agree. Edward Snowden violated the terms of a security clearance that hundreds of thousands of people possess and go to great lengths to protect. Those secrets were not his to tell, regardless of how "benevolent" his intentions were.
-
Fully agree. There are internal channels available when you have grievances. You don’t just expose classified items. His choice to be treasonous and violate security protocols.

I've been following you and liking so much of what you have to say; but by taking this outrageous stance, you've lost my support. Snowden was not in any position to gauge the potential effects of his treasonous behavior on our national security. Not his call.
-
The NSA utterly failed their own duties. They made it his call.

But who will protect Tulsi from being blackmailed or influenced by the various powerful, wealthy, and secretive men from our own government, megacorporations, and the few privileged elite?
-
Same goes for any candidate. You won't know till she gets in power. Tbh I think this country needs another revolution.

I used to really like Tulsi but, now I'm on the fence about her
-
Because she wants to protect whistleblowers?

I only wish you realized that government screws everything up as much as it screws up foreign policy.

He wasn’t a whistle blower. He didn’t go to Congress or the Inspector General. He went to the press for notoriety. Screw him. Don’t celebrate his behavior.
-
Had he gone to government they would have silenced him. He was warning the American people. We deserved to know they were watching us through our web cams and reading our private messages. The government is corrupt they would have continued to hide the truth.
