There is no god
Notre Dame was constructed to remind us of the beauty and greatness of God, and to have a place to gather in that remembrance. Today, we mourn with France, and Catholics around the world. Tomorrow, we rebuild.

Notre Dame is an iconic landmark built more than 700 years is a great loss for the whole world not just for France and Christians. I wish and hope people will the same attention to Al Qudds in Jerusalem, it’s more than 1500 years old and the Israelis want to destroy it.

I found it really strange that al aqsa mosque was on fire while Notre dame was burning too. Not trying to be a conspiracy theorist, but strange still. I'm not into any dogma but appreciate art, and these religious buildings are wonders worthy of our love and mourning

Can we get a President Candidate who acknowledges Religion as a tool? God is evoked to control people, it's not 'great' it's insidious.

take religion out of it, and we lost an amazing medieval structure. Put it back in and we lost a church. The church, especially in medival times was there to keep a strangle hold on the populace. God = love? sure, also = control.

Love to see how everyone lines up to chip in on rebuilding a Catholic Church. People relax. Yes it is/was a piece of art. The Catholic Church however has enough money to rebuild it in all its splendor all by themselves. Donate your money to people who need it.

I agree. Ultimately, lovely and majestic as it is, or was, it is a monument...a thing. It is something that should be rebuilt by people that can most afford it.
