I have two daughters in school, though I am old enough to be their Grandfather. Their Grandmother was born in 1915. She remembers Armistice Day. The real day. She remembered it all her life, people crying, laughing, dancing. We should never have changed name. LA Memorial Co.

I honor no war

Don't honor the war. Honor the men who's lives ended too soon and work to bring the end to all wars which they believed they were fighting for. Let's make peace their true memorial.

That just seems insane to me. Maybe United Airlines should get naming right for Arlington Cemetery too. "Welcome to United Airlines Tomb of the Unknown Soldier"

There was a proposal to sell naming rights to Soldier Field in Chicago, but it died for the same reason.

If they tried to rename Fenway after a corporation? Boston would go absolutely insane. And that's just (the country's greatest) a ballpark. The fact that they want to rename a place created to honor the sacrifice of our veterans? How's that not getting an equally strong reaction?

Actually, the new name is United Airlines Memorial Coliseum, slated to be changed in this August. The Coliseum owned by LA, managed and operated by USC, that sold the naming right for $69M. The selling price will help to renovate the Coliseum....https://www.latimes.com/sports/usc/la-sp-usc-coliseum-renovation-20180129-story.html …
