This is false. Voting systems count ballots. At Defcon, kids “hacked” replicas of (not real) state election night reporting sites (which are not voting systems) with built-in vulnerabilities to specific attacks called SQL injections and step-by-step instructions. I was there.
You'd think a candidate for POTUS would check the facts a little better, but maybe we're just in different times.
Elections are one of the places never to upgrade to the digital age. Sure, use scanners to count and such, but its too easy to alter the data otherwise.
