Well...in defense of the space weapons...you actually don't "know" that. With the lack of transparency we (nor anyone without a NTK) is aware of WHAT the heck is going on "out there". After-all NONE of the aforementioned benefits an extinct species. Nevertheless; message noted.

Isn't sad, in 2019 what most civilized countries already have & been doing for decades (clean energy, universal healthcare, affordable education, recycling, paid maternity leave, law mandated vacation days) we struggle just to convince the people to consider basic fundamentals!

The difference is wholly dependent on one's ideological view of government's role. Our country & it's framework are unique & those who believe in smaller federal gov't aren't always against what you listed, sometimes they feel it's either a state priority or not a gov't role.

This is bizarre. If someone tells me they have a weapon, I get suspicious of them, work to disarm or them or equally arm myself. It may seem counter intuitive to you but the best means of self defence is not actively demonstrating intent/capacity to fight
