There is no such thing as “clean coal.” Once we contaminate groundwater, it’s extremely difficult to clean up and has impacts across the entire ecosystem. Government should protect the people and the environment—not the coal industry.http://tulsi.to/2C3lo1m

Coal also releases more radioactive fallout than nuclear reactors due to naturally occurring uranium inclusions in coal. If you want to reduce the amount of radioactive material in the air, you have to replace coal plants with nuclear plants :p

#NuclearPower is CLEAN, RENEWABLE, and ZERO CARBON EMISSION power, with fewer deaths per megawatt hour than wind, solar, OR hydroelectric - even INCLUDING catastrophic failures due to the inferior water-cooled design! #MoltenSalt is the way to go, with #Thorium as fuel!

One must also protect the taxpayers and not gouge them, any serious plan to reduce emissions must include nuclear power

Only if you insist on centralised #utility sized power plants. Small and #micro offers the big capacity, because we have a #grid to collect them all. So pricing and the #market is key. @Pen2Paper43 @kate_eviva @mcannonbrookes #renewable @PaulEDawson

We need to hold polluters accountable and made to bear the external costs of their actions. They need to see how their actions affect the environment and the people.

Nah. If we stopped being so afraid of nuclear power, we'd be fine. Remember: the lion share of anti-nuclear rhetoric is funded by the FOSSIL FUEL INDUSTRY!

Most US coal plants are being retired in the next decade because the economics aren’t there for coal anymore. Natural gas and hydrogen are the future.

coal still has to be baked at over 2500F to make coke which then can be turned into activated carbon and other products. there are other ways to filter products that do not destroy the land by mining or ruin the environment by coal furnace stack emissions.

Yes, excellent and interesting to note that China and India do not have to comply with the non-binding Paris Climate Accord until 2030 = it doesn't matter what we sign vs what we do.
