Most "farmers" are agricultural behemoths. They have no respect for soil, water or earth. They are all about profits. But the real farmers, of which you speak, will be eaten up by agribusiness.

We *need* the government to get out of subsidizing farming and let the market take the lead.

As an Iowan, I see everyday the problems our farmers face. Glad to see someone taking a positive look at our nations food providers. Can't get enough of this #AlohaSpirit @TulsiGabbard2020

And the green new deal would screw over every single farmer in this country, if you cared about farmers why would support the green new deal?

The tariffs on China (etc.) is more critical. Every country needs to subsidize their farmers to help them keep their farms. Currently, citizens in the higher cost of living zones cannot afford to buy products by locally sourced SMBs and companies cannot compete on high wages.

A farmer I know won the lottery 10 yrs ago, $2mil. I asked him what he was gonna do with the money. He said "I guess I'll just keep farming til it's all gone.'. He's still farming. As long as they get the massive tax breaks given to farmers, he'll still farm. Loves the land.

Government needs to have as little business as possible in running or influencing the economy. Every incremental increase to government role in economics paves the road to industry take-over and centrally planned distribution of resources.

Maybe we need the federal government to get the hell out of their way. Their "support" clearly isn't helping anyone.

We need to provide subsidies to small farmers. Increased subsidies for organic farmers.

Price ceilings/price floors don't help. Subsidy helps out the biggest and encourages foolish investment, by many farmers. Jacks up the cost of land and products for farming. Subsidy for junk ethanol fuel, more corn and dairy cows, than could ever be necessary.....the list goes on

It has zero to do with trade wars. Decades of government "help" have hurt the farmers. We have the best leadership possible in the WH right now. #MAGA
